David F. Welch is a clean technology investor, innovator and advocate. Welch has more than 40 years of experience in fiber optics. He co-founded Infinera in 2001, now part of Nokia. Welch holds 200+ patents, has authored 300+ papers and received numerous engineering and business awards and distinctions. Dave co-founded Attotude in 2024. In 2021, Welch founded NosTerra, a community of business leaders who apply their time, talent and resources to scale clean energy and other issues. In 2024, Dave co-founded NosTerra Venture Capital to scale clean data centers. Dave serves on the Board of the National Resources Defense Counsel and is a frequent speaker and commentator on clean energy, including the prestigious Woulk lecture at CalTech.
