Jigar Shah is an energy entrepreneur, investor, and strategist who was featured on the 2024 TIME100 list of the world’s most influential people. In 2025, he co-founded Multiplier* to help entrepreneurs achieve better exits.
Today, Jigar co-hosts two podcasts: Energy Empire and Open Circuit. He also serves as founding advisory chair for Deploy Action, a nonprofit that champions smart, equitable energy reforms that prioritize grid reliability, regional coordination, and consumer affordability.
Previously Jigar oversaw the reinvigoration of the Loan Programs Office at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he helped inspire hundreds of entrepreneurs and innovators choose to invest in onshore manufacturing, innovative project finance, and tribal energy in the US.
Prior to joining the DOE, Jigar co-founded and served as the president of Generate Capital; led the Carbon War Room as founding CEO; and was the founder and CEO of Sun Edison. He is the author of Creating Climate Wealth: Unlocking the Impact Economy (2013), a book that outlines his mission to scale the transition to a global clean energy economy.
